I've been drawing my whole life, but at the end of my PhD I decided to be more intentional about trying to improve my art, focusing on watercolors. I paint things I see, which are birds and plants in the wild, urban landscapes, and sometimes animals at zoos and aquaria. I especially enjoy urban sketching and practicing making the best of use of limited weather and lighting conditions.
